Community Health Center Puyallup

Transforming an historic structure to bring much needed medical, dental, pharmacy, and social services to a growing community.

The Puyallup Health Center is the first expansion location for CHC into the Puyallup community. The project includes renovations to an early 1900’s former cannery building into a medical and dental clinic; and the renovation of a shell space on the ground floor of a parking garage structure on adjacent lot including a pharmacy, multipurpose meeting rooms, and consultation offices.

Programming exercises looked at creating efficient patient and provider flow through on-stage, off-stage layout of consultation rooms, and reconfiguring the main circulation stair to consolidate patient waiting and reception areas. The project also includes a new emergency backup generator, full HVAC and electrical replacement, re-roof and re-clad of the existing envelope, and the addition of a new enclosed staff communication stair.
